Schiedam/Eindhoven, 30 March 2016. As of 1 April, Linde Benelux will be forced to include the kilometre charge imposed by the Belgian government in its invoices for its Belgian and Luxembourg clients. The Belgian government imposes this kilometre charge on lorries that exceed 3.5 tonnes, increasing our transport costs to Belgium.
This passed-on charge will appear on your invoice under the ADR/VMT surcharge for gas cylinders and the Dropcharge surcharge for bulk transport. The invoice will change as a result of these surcharges.
The underlying reason for introducing the kilometre charge is the Belgian government's wish to distribute the environmental costs and increasing infrastructure costs over the actual road users.
